We are keen to ensure this website is fully accessible and easy to access for all our visitors.

We’d like to make sure that our website is fully accessible and easy to read for all our visitors who land here.

However, this remains a work in progress as we will continue to update the site as we become aware of new developments and of course as we receive feedback from you.

We are doing as much as possible to adhere to best practice by following W3C standards, however most pages have been built to comply with a minimum standard of WCAG 2.1 single 'A' guidelines. Whenever we can, we aim to extend this to 'AA' and 'AAA' compliance.

These are the steps we have already taken to address accessibility needs:

The site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control all presentation and layout so that content is well structured and easily accessible via assistive devices.

Text size can easily be increased or decreased in your browser. Check for your browser type below and simply follow the steps outlined.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer
    Choose the drop-down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked "view". A list of options will appear in the drop-down menu, choose "text size". Next another drop-down menu should appear with options including "small", "medium", "large", "largest". Select "largest" (if required).

  • Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome
    Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press the plus (+) key. You will find that this will enlarge the text, to enlarge again repeat the procedure. Keep repeating until the text is enlarged to your requirements. If you need to make the text smaller press Ctrl on your keyboard and the minus ( - ) key.
  • Apple Safari
    Hold down the Apple Key and press the (+) key. You will find that this will enlarge the text, to enlarge again repeat the procedure. Keep repeating until the text is enlarged to your requirements. If you need to make the text smaller press the Apple Key on your keyboard and press the (-) key.

Where possible, all images used for non-aesthetic reasons have descriptive alternative text.

Content across the site has been written and formatted to make it as accessible as possible. This includes:

  • The use of semantic headings which are descriptive and used to highlight sections of text
  • Clear and easy to understand language
  • Meaningful text used for all links
  • Content optimised for all desktop, mobiles, laptops, tablets and other similar devices
  • Information is never conveyed exclusively by using colour

Colour contrast
Wherever possible we have designed pages and chosen colours that can be easily accessed by colour-blind users. Where contrast is limited, we are looking to remedy that by reviewing our current colour palette.

All pages across the site include a link to the homepage and other key areas. Where possible, we have a consistent global navigation. We also have a site map which provides all content listed on one page.

Film and video
Our site features embedded videos from YouTube where we also host descriptions and captioning. We strive to publish all the videos with captions (subtitles). However, in cases where they are not available, you can add captions via YouTube by simply clicking the 'CC' button within the player on the YouTube channel.

All our forms contain clearly labelled fields, with clear instructions on how to fill them in. Where a field is mandatory it is labelled with an * (asterisk) and must be completed in order to submit the form. Read our privacy statement to see what we do with your data when we receive it.

There are some PDF documents available for download on the site. You can find out more about how to configure the free Adobe Reader software to obtain greater access to PDF files, by downloading Adobe Reader for free.
